Snowmen Cookies

Holiday Baking! Here are my snowmen cookies from today, great models for food photography. I need to think of a different background for my baking, that baking sheet seems to make quite a few guest appearances.

Connor Wedding 09.02.2010 Part 2

Mallory and Chad's wedding on September 2nd was my 6th and final wedding of the summer. Mallory went to Cottey College and Italy with me a few years back. For this wedding I flew down to Denver and spent the week with the wonderful D'Hooge family and had an awesome time. Congratulations to Mallory and Chad, love you guys!

Holga Fashion Shoot with Tomomi

Shots from the Holga fashion project (these are from my digital/test shots). Tomomi was my model for these shots earlier this summer in this beautiful flow-y dress. As a recap on the HolgaFashion Project: Photographs taken in a fashion style in an unconventional medium, the Holga. I have scans from the Holga and will be posting them soon.

Baking Day Extravaganza Day 2

Baking day with Katy today! Photo #1) our failed attempt at using an apple corer/peeler/slicer. Photo #2) our attempt at making flourless chocolate cake but quickly failed by a temperamental oven thermometer and Photo #3) the success of our day - Apple Cheddar scones. Successes of the day: Good scones, good company, experimentation of my new 50 mm lens and motivation for our next project together - sewing aprons! They will match our holiday baking so well.

Happy Birthday Miranda!

Cake I baked for Miranda's 25th birthday last weekend (actually this photo is of the test run cake from earlier). Mango Coconut Cake with Whipped Cream Frosting. 6 layers later and it was very yummy :) And I got to practice more food photography!

As a recap on the HolgaFashion Project: Photographs taken in a fashion style in an unconventional medium, the Holga. I have scans from the Holga from previous shoots and will be posting them soon.

Culver Wedding 08.21.2010 Part 2

Images from Morgan and Jesse's wedding in Denver this past August. As a photographer, light is everything, and that evening was a photographer's utopia for light. Holy cow, humidity makes it uncomfortable to shoot but diffuses the light perfectly. Congratulations Morgan and Jesse and thank you for having me shoot your wedding!

Website Discovery

Photojojo! We find the best photo shiz anywhere
Yesterday, while blog-hopping I came upon a most wonderful discovery. Photojojo. Seriously, an amazing photo-geek site. They have all sorts of fun toys and gadgets in their store for photography and a really fun ideas and creativity for the photo world. I'm in love. And I want to work for them. Lucky for me, there are two job openings in San Francisco. Oh, and this mug is amazing and I would totally use it all the time. It even comes with a lens cap!!!

Molasses Cookies

It's baking season! All I want to do is bake but I have limited myself to one baking project per week. Maybe. We'll see how that goes. Here are molasses cookies from a few weeks back. I need help deciding which image form each set that I like best. 1 or 2? 3 or 4? Help! I have more images but I am not as satisfied with them.
This has become a personal project - photographing what I love. Baking + photography = happy me. Plus, I get to make my friends happy sharing all of these yummy morsels :)
