I have been more than late in editing and posting photos from the roller derby bout I photographed back in October 2012. My apologies! It seemed to get lost in the shuffle and when going back through my image folders (uploading a maternity session I did this weekend), I realized I had some work to do. SO here are a few of the photos from Port Orchard - I traveled across the waters with Dix Y Chix, the co-ed team on the Grunge City League and photographed a bout for the first time. Admittedly, going back through the photos now (after training for roller derby for 6 months now), I realize how much I DIDN'T know about the sport and how much I have learned in that time span. I kept asking myself, where is the action? What is going on in this photo? Lessons can be learned looking back at old work - this made that clear in my mind. In the future I hope to photograph more bouts with a) a better sense of the game and b) a great sports lens. But for now, I leave you with some derby pics!

Wedding Books
My sisters and I are all married off now, and my mother has been able to have the past three summers totally engulfed in all things wedding. She asked me if I would create her photo books from each of the weddings so I created one for my wedding, a book for Lindsey's and a book for Katie's. Mom made all the dresses for my wedding and Lindsey's so now she can show her work off to everyone! Here are pages from each of the weddings, Amanda Guy did my photos and Jill Scarson was gracious enough to do Katie's. Photo books are available for all my brides or any of my clients - inquiries can be sent to me via email.

Collord Family at South Lake Union 2012
In November I was lucky enough to meet Sheena and Nate Collord and photograph their beautiful family. We met at the Center for Wooden Boats here in Seattle on South Lake Union and had a blast exploring and taking pictures. Look at the kids' adorable curly hair! I look forward to photographing them more in this next month.
Graveley Family Winter 2012
Visiting family in Avon, Montana, I did a short official session with Erin and Will Graveley and their kids Kaylee, Miles, Clara and Finn. I loved exploring their ranch and hope to do more photography there this summer - and someday just hang out, work and photograph some ranch life. Enjoy!
Nude Photography Session
In the spirit of keeping the posts a little more family friendly, I have chosen to just direct you to the images from my recent nude photography shoot. Plus, then you can go stalk my Flickr account and see some of the other random personal work I have been doing lately! Usually I just post everything on this blog, but because the past few posts have been about family and kids I thought I'd show the album in another location. Go here for this nude session.
Baby Lincoln
Lincoln Skinner is my new little nephew! We got to meet and hold him when he was 10 days old, over 4th of July weekend. It's amazing how fast these little dudes grow - I saw him over Christmas and he is nowhere close to this small anymore...
Also included = his wonderful brother and sisters (my amazing nephew and nieces!)
On a side-note: I let all the kids over 4th of July play with my camera (as long as they were sitting on my lap) and they had a blast...I'll spare you the flood of fun images they took for the time being even though they did great! Apparently I made an impact because little Miss Maryssa got a camera for Christmas because she played with her mom's camera so much it broke after my creative influence...

Summer Family Photos
Here's the time where I go through my images from the summer and realize...oops...I haven't posted these ANYWHERE and will now flood my blog with my family. Two posts of my family coming up!
Here's some photos from our 4th of July celebration with the Graveley side of the family in Hamilton, MT.

Kate and Stephen Engagement January 2013 in Seattle
Old time friend (been friends for 7 years, wow!) and amazing self-proclaimed agent of mine, Kate Anvik is getting married in July this year! She found herself a more than wonderful man, Stephen, and I was lucky enough to be asked to be their photographer for their wedding this summer. We had a blast (even though it was chilly) wandering around Greenlake and downtown Seattle and I have faith that this couple is going to be super easy to photograph on their wedding day - they are so in love and SO photogenic. One of my favorite parts of photographing couples are the times where they are so in love with each other that nothing else in the world matters, and it is like I am not even standing there with a camera. Congratulations to the happy, wonderful couple!

Catherine and Christophe 09.01.2012 Part II
I photographed my coworker and his beautiful lady, Catherine, this past Labor Day weekend - a Masquerade Ball themed wedding! It was gorgeous! Up at Le Soleil Hotel in Vancouver, BC, the brilliant colors, numerous tattoos and exuberant girls made the day super special.
